COSMIC MESSAGE
Stars are still forming in the Lagoon Nebula, visible in the constellation Sagittarius. This image, taken with a sensitive camera on a large telescope, shows curtains of collapsing hydrogen in green. A special filter isolates light from this specific atom. Many young stars are evident in the open cluster M8, formed from previously collapsed gas clouds.
