Discovered by NASA's TRACE spacecraft, this spongy-looking stuff is called Solar Moss. It glows at 2 million degrees Fahrenheit and is seen in extreme ultraviolet light. The moss is associated with hot magnetic plasma loops arching above one of the Sun's active regions.
