TT Cygni is a cool red giant star with a strong stellar wind. This false-color image, made with millimeter wavelength radio telescopes, shows carbon monoxide molecules in the gas surrounding the star. A central emission comes from material blown off the star over hundreds of years, while a thin ring represents gas expanding for 6,000 years.
