COSMIC MESSAGE
At the center of our Milky Way Galaxy is a black hole, over 2 million times the mass of the Sun. This conclusion, once controversial, is now firmly established by observations of stars orbiting very close to the galactic center. Astronomers used the Paranal Observatory's very large telescopes to track a star, S2, as it came within about 17 light-hours of the center.
