Ring galaxy AM 0644-741 is a striking example of a galaxy shaped by a collision. The Hubble Space Telescope captured this image of its immense, blue ring, 150,000 light-years in diameter. This ring is composed of newly formed, massive stars, created by the gravitational disruption as another galaxy passed through it.
