On July 1, Jupiter and Venus passed within half a degree of each other as seen from Earth. This conjunction is easily visible in the western sky shortly after sunset, with Venus being the brighter of the two. This photo, taken two nights prior, also shows high-level noctilucent clouds in the sunset sky.
