COSMIC MESSAGE
The Horsehead Nebula, also known as Barnard 33, is one of the most identifiable nebulae in the sky. It is part of a large, dark, molecular cloud in Orion. The red glow behind the nebula comes from hydrogen gas ionized by the bright star Sigma Orionis. The Horsehead's dark shape is caused by thick dust, which casts a shadow to the left.
