Moon and Venus over Cannon Beach
NASA APOD · James W. Young
COSMIC MESSAGE
That bright spot next to the Moon is Venus. Two days ago, the crescent Moon drifted past Venus, coming within one degree at its closest. This conjunction was one of several events for the Moon this month, including a partial solar eclipse a few days prior. The Moon is currently brightening as seen from Earth, as more of its face becomes illuminated by the Sun.
