Just an hour before sunrise on November 17, a bright Leonid meteor flashed across the sky. This photo was taken from Hochblauen, a summit in Germany's Black Forest. Sirius and the stars of Orion are visible near the southwestern horizon, with the meteor appearing to head towards Orion's belt.
