NGC 6995: The Bat Nebula

The Bat Nebula, NGC 6995, is part of the larger Veil Nebula, a supernova remnant in the constellation Cygnus. The Veil Nebula is the debris cloud from a massive star's death explosion. The Bat Nebula spans about half a degree, or 12 light-years, at the Veil's estimated distance.
