COSMIC MESSAGE
The Milky Way arches over hoodoos in the French Alps. These rock spires, called Demoiselles Coiffées, or 'Ladies with Hairdos,' are millions of years old. They form when harder rock protects softer rock beneath it from erosion. Our galaxy, in the background, is billions of years older than these earthly structures.
