Aurora is usually seen in the far north or south, but this was a rare exception. Solar storms sent charged particles our way, exciting atoms in Earth's atmosphere. This created a shimmering display over Georgia, an unfamiliar sight for the region. The Moon sets on the western horizon, over farmland, while the aurora dances above.
