COSMIC MESSAGE

The Large Magellanic Cloud, LMC, is the largest satellite galaxy of our Milky Way. It is classified as a dwarf irregular galaxy due to its chaotic appearance. However, in deep exposures, it begins to resemble a barred spiral galaxy. The LMC is only about 180,000 light years distant.
