M102: Edge-on Disk Galaxy
M102, also known as NGC 5866, is an edge-on disk galaxy, much like our own Milky Way. Its thin profile is only apparent because we view it from its side. The galaxy shows complex dust lanes in dark and red, while its disk stars give it a blue hue.
