HH-222: The Waterfall Nebula

COSMIC MESSAGE
The Waterfall Nebula, officially Herbig-Haro 222, stretches about ten light-years in the Orion Molecular Cloud. Its origin is still under investigation, but it appears to be a gigantic gaseous bow shock. This is similar to a wave created by a fast-moving ship, suggesting a powerful, unseen source driving the gas.
