The Claw and Bubble Nebulae

NASA APOD · Richard Whitehead Text: Keighley Rockcliffe (NASA GSFC, UMBC CSST, CRESST II)
COSMIC MESSAGE

This image shows the Claw Nebula, Sh2-157, and the Bubble Nebula, NGC 7635. They glow with the light of ionized hydrogen and oxygen. These structures, while appearing abstract, are shaped by the physical laws of light and matter. The Claw seems to reach towards the floating Bubble, both part of a vast cosmic canvas.
