Comet R3 PanSTARRS is not heading toward Rigel, the star at the top of the image. That star is far in the background, unrelated to the comet. The Witch Head Nebula, also in the distance, is similarly unconnected. The comet has moved into the Southern Hemisphere's skies, visible toward the west after sunset.
