Hyakutake, Venus, Orion, and Pond

Comet Hyakutake was a prominent feature in the night sky on April 9, 1996. This photo captures it above a pond, with the lights of Kansas City, Missouri, on the horizon. The constellation Orion is visible in the upper left, and the planet Venus, the brightest object, is at the center. Two bright stars mark the comet's position on the right.
