Planet Near a Galaxy Core

This illustration depicts what the night sky might look like from a planet near a galaxy's core. This drawing is based on Hubble Space Telescope observations of NGC 4261. These observations indicate a disk of dust 800 light-years wide surrounds a black hole billions of times more massive than a star. Such a planet would have a spectacular vantage point.
