Comet Hale-Bopp continues to impress, seen here passing in front of the M34 star cluster in Perseus. Many of the cluster's stars are visible through the comet's white dust tail. The bright blue ion tail shows several distinct streams. The comet will slowly fade as it recedes from both the Sun and Earth.
