X-Rays From The Galactic Center

Astronomers believe most galaxies have massive black holes at their centers, and our own Milky Way is no exception. Swirling stars and a strong, variable radio source provide evidence for a black hole just 30,000 light-years away. This Chandra X-ray image provides direct evidence of X-rays from the Galactic Center, confirming the presence of this bizarre object.
