Mars's thin atmosphere still allows winds to weather and shape its surface, creating features like these dunes in Rabe crater. The graceful ridges can shift as windblown material deposits on the windward face and falls down the steeper leeward slopes. Dark trails indicate recent sand avalanches down the steep slopes.
