Galaxy Cluster in the Early Universe

NASA APOD
MENSAJE CÓSMICO

This image shows the galaxy cluster RDCS 1252.9-2927, one of the most massive known in the early universe. Optical and near-infrared data, shown in red, yellow, and green, reveal individual galaxies. X-ray data, in purple, highlight the hot gas between the galaxies, which is enriched with heavy elements forged in the hearts of stars. This cluster is a distant laboratory for studying how galaxies evolved.
