NASA APOD · Processing: Tom Davis, Acquisition: Jim Misti
MENSAJE CÓSMICO

The Lagoon Nebula, also known as M8, is a popular sight in the constellation Sagittarius. Cataloged by Charles Messier in the 18th century, it's an active stellar nursery about 5,000 light-years away, towards the center of our Milky Way. This image reveals striking details, including filaments of glowing hydrogen gas.
