A Galaxy Collision in NGC 6745

NASA APOD
MENSAJE CÓSMICO

NGC 6745 shows the aftermath of two galaxies colliding over hundreds of millions of years. The larger galaxy, once a spiral, is now distorted and peculiar. While stars rarely collide directly, the gravitational forces reshape the galaxies, as seen in this Hubble image.
