The Spitzer Space Telescope's infrared cameras pierce through the dust and gas that hide our Milky Way's center from optical view. This false-color image reveals a dense concentration of stars. Older, cooler stars appear blue, while reddish dust clouds indicate regions of active star formation with young, hot stars. This mosaic offers a detailed look into the crowded heart of our galaxy.
