Illusion and Evolution in Galaxy Cluster Abell 2667

Galaxies in the massive cluster Abell 2667 are undergoing dramatic transformations. The Hubble Space Telescope captured these distortions, like a galaxy appearing to break apart. As galaxies move through the cluster's hot gas, they can be stripped of their own gas, affecting their star formation. This process is known as ram-pressure stripping.
