Gliese 581 and the Habitable Zone

The star at the center of this view is Gliese 581, a red dwarf just 20 light-years away in the constellation Libra. Astronomers have discovered a system of three planets orbiting Gliese 581. The smallest planet in this system is estimated to be five times Earth's mass, and it is considered the most Earth-like exoplanet found in the star's habitable zone.
