Spitzer's Milky Way

NASA APOD
MENSAJE CÓSMICO

The Spitzer Space Telescope has created the most detailed infrared picture of our Milky Way galaxy ever made. This enormous mosaic is composed of over 800,000 frames of data from Spitzer's cameras. The small portion shown here spans nearly 8 degrees across the galaxy's center. This comprehensive view helps astronomers understand the structure and composition of our galaxy in infrared light.
