Io's Surface: Under Construction

Io, one of Jupiter's moons, is the most volcanically active body in our Solar System. Its surface is constantly being reshaped by lava flows. This high-resolution composite image was created using data from NASA's Galileo spacecraft in 1996. It is centered on the side of Io that always faces away from Jupiter.
