Forty Thousand Meteor Origins Across the Sky
NASA APOD · SonotaCo Network, Japan
MENSAJE CÓSMICO
Visible meteors are typically sand-sized grains of ice and rock that fragmented from comets. Many meteor showers are associated with known comets. A network of over 100 video cameras in Japan recorded almost 40,000 meteors over two years, mapping their origins across the sky.
