Northern Lights over Prelude Lake

Curtains of shimmering green light stretch across this night sky above Prelude Lake, Canada. These northern lights, also known as the aurora borealis, are a familiar sight from high northern latitudes. As the equinox approaches, nights grow longer, marking the start of a good season for auroras. This panoramic scene was recorded on September 11.
