A Venus Transit Over the Baltic Sea

This photograph captures the rare transit of Venus across the rising Sun over the Baltic Sea. Taken from Fehmarn Island, the image shows Venus as a small black dot against the sun's disk. The atmospheric haze and clouds add varying shades of red to the solar limb. Such an event requires careful planning and a bit of luck to witness and photograph.
