A Flight through the Hubble Ultra Deep Field

Imagine a flight through the early universe, where galaxies are still forming and look very different from today. This image from the Hubble Ultra Deep Field shows over 5,000 galaxies. Each one is a glimpse back in time, some seen when the universe was only a fraction of its current age. The light from these distant galaxies has traveled billions of years to reach us.
