IRAS 20324: Evaporating Protostar
This caterpillar-shaped interstellar cloud, IRAS 20324+4057, is contracting to form a new star. Energetic winds and light are eroding much of the gas and dust that might have been used to form the star. Because of this, the final mass of the star, and its fate, are uncertain.
