The Cone Nebula from Hubble
The Cone Nebula, a pillar of dust within the star-forming region NGC 2264, is a place where new stars are being born. This detailed image from the Hubble Space Telescope shows how winds from these young stars sculpt the surrounding gas and dust. The Cone Nebula is about 2,500 light-years from Earth.
