Messier Craters in Stereo
These two craters on the Moon, Messier and Messier A, are named after the 18th-century astronomer Charles Messier. They are in the Mare Fecunditatis, the Sea of Fertility. Their elongated shapes suggest they were formed by an object hitting the Moon at a very shallow angle.
