Flying Past Pluto

The New Horizons spacecraft flew past Pluto in July, returning stunning images of the dwarf planet. This video sequence, created from those images, shows the spacecraft's approach to the Pluto system. It depicts Pluto and its largest moon, Charon, orbiting a common center of mass. As the spacecraft gets closer, surprising surface features on Pluto become visible.
