Ultima Thule Rotation Gif

Ultima Thule is the most distant object explored by a spacecraft from Earth, located 6.5 billion kilometers from the Sun. The New Horizons spacecraft captured these two frames 38 minutes apart as it approached the Kuiper Belt world. Ultima Thule is a contact binary, with two lobes that rotate together about every 15 hours, providing a glimpse of a primitive world.
