Terminator Moon: A Moonscape of Shadows

This Moon image is different because of its terminators. It's a digital composite of many near-terminator lunar strips over a full Moon, meaning you don't directly see a single terminator. Terminator regions, the line between day and night, show the longest and most prominent shadows. These shadows, through their contrast and length, make a flat photograph appear three-dimensional.
