A Radar Image of Planet Earth

This radar image of Mount Rainier, Washington, was taken by the Spaceborne Radar Laboratory on the Space Shuttle Endeavour in 1994. Radar works by sending out radio waves and measuring their echoes, creating detailed topographic maps. This technique allows us to see through clouds and darkness, providing unique insights into Earth's surface features.
