Central Galactic Star Bursts

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

The core of galaxy NGC 253 is a site of intense star formation, known as a 'starburst' galaxy. It contains some of the densest knots of stars ever found, surrounded by glowing gas and dust. The unusual color in this image comes from the light of hot, young, blue stars and their associated nebulae.
