COSMIC MESSAGE

Antares is a red supergiant, about seven hundred times the size of our Sun. It is the brightest star in Scorpius and one of the brightest in the night sky. Antares has expelled a nebula of gas around itself. Radiation from a nearby blue companion star causes this gas to glow, creating the illuminated cloud seen here.
