Twenty-five years ago, humans explored the Moon. In this image from the last Moon landing, scientist-astronaut Harrison Schmitt stands next to a massive, split boulder. Apollo 17 was one of six missions that successfully landed humans on the Moon and brought them back. The mission explored the unusually dark terrain at the Taurus-Littrow landing site and returned more rocks than any other lunar mission.
