Comet Hale-Bopp, at its brightest in early 1997, was captured in this impressive photograph on April 5th. The image was taken from the Indian Cove Campground in California's Joshua Tree National Forest. A flashlight was used to briefly illuminate the foreground rocks during the 30-second exposure.
