NASA APOD · Anglo-Australian Telescope Board
COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 3293 is a bright, young open star cluster in the constellation Carina, about 8,000 light-years away. It contains a high abundance of hot, blue stars. Studies suggest these blue stars are about 6 million years old, while the dimmer, redder stars are around 20 million years old. This indicates that star formation in this cluster took at least 14 million years.
