COSMIC MESSAGE
The Trifid Nebula, also known as M20, is a region of active star formation in Sagittarius. The red glow comes from hydrogen gas ionized by high-energy light from new stars. Dark dust filaments, formed in the atmospheres of cool giant stars and supernova debris, lace through the nebula.
