Pioneer 10 is the first human-made object to venture beyond our solar system. Launched in 1972, it is now about twice as far from the Sun as Pluto. This spacecraft is traveling at 28,000 miles per hour, heading for interstellar space. It is more than 9.5 light-hours distant.
