Henize 70: A SuperBubble In The LMC

NASA APOD · Anglo-Australian Telescope Board
COSMIC MESSAGE

Massive stars, tens of times the Sun's mass, dramatically shape their galactic environments. Henize 70, a luminous superbubble in the Large Magellanic Cloud, is evidence of this. This ring-shaped nebula, about 300 light-years across, is formed by the winds and explosions of these powerful stars. They churn and mix interstellar gas and dust, influencing future star formation.
