NGC 1808 is a barred spiral galaxy with a peculiar nucleus and an unusually warped disk. It is undergoing so much star formation that it has been deemed a starburst galaxy. In this color-enhanced photograph, regions of active star formation glow blue, indicating recently formed bright blue stars. Strange flows of hydrogen gas emanate from its central regions.
